Max Launches For Latrobe

“You only have to be slightly out with your time trial and it affects the whole night.” That’s the voice of WSS experience talking and also Max Dumesny’s brief reflection on the previous round at Hobart last weekend where he timed in 12th and played catch up all night.
“It doesn’t take much. It never has done. I thought our lap was a pretty good one actually and I expected to be in pretty good situation when I came in, so I was pretty surprised when I found out we weren’t even in the top ten.”
Despite the slow start Max fought his way back to third by the fall of the chequers and salvaged some important points for the first leg of the Apple Isle commitment.
This Saturday night it starts all over again for the 7 times WSS Champ as the team attack Latrobe for the final round before Christmas.
Latrobe, like many other circuits, has winning memories for the Valvoline / GKR Transport team.
“We’ve generally been successful at Latrobe, it’s like any other place to me,” Dumesny admits.
Coming into the 6th round of the Championship Dumesny sits in second place and is typically buoyant about his chances.
“I never attack any round differently to any other. We go in to win and if it all lines up for us, we do.”
